ACTIVITIES IN EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND INNOVATION

Important place in education department of the field for practice, conducted for the students of the first and second courses. In the development of educational and methodological framework of these practices have contributed many current and former teachers of the department.
Theoretical training in engineering geodesy, geodetic, thematic mapping and geo-information supported by summer practices. Students will acquire practical skills of field survey work using theodolites and leveling, high-precision GPS-receivers, digital tachometers, controller and a laptop computer, and create digital plans terrain using computer programs.
Practical training of third and fourth year students carried out under agreements signed by the leading public and private organizations and companies. Currently department has contracts for training and passing the training and production and manufacturing practices with Goskartography KR, Gosregister KR, CAIAG, LLC "Land and Real Estate", etc. As a result of work experience, students prepare and defend a report on the results of their practice.
Each year, several graduates of the department receive diplomas with honors. Our graduates are in demand in many areas of the economy, such as geodesy, cartography, land registration and cadastral, construction, research institutes, international projects, disaster management, etc.
Currently, the department has a laboratory of "Engineering geodesy”, “GIS-lab", "Photogrammetry and Cartography", where students are involved in directions "Geodesy and Remote Sensing", "Cartography and Geoinformatics".
The Department is using in teaching disciplines the modern surveying equipment - single-frequency and dual-frequency GPS / GNSS receivers LEICA, TRIMBLE, total stations Leica Geosystems TPS 800, laser distance meter Leica DiSTO A5, Levels Leica Geosystems NA730, optical theodolites and leveling in the educational process.

Currently there are "Austria-Central Asia Centre for Geo-Information Science" and "The Kyrgyz Center of geographic information systems" functioning at the department.
The Austria-Central Asia Centre for Geo-Information Science was established in 2008 to establish and maintain links between Austria and the countries of Central Asia to jointly develop the capacity to stimulate the exchange of information and the promotion of education and research, and he has played an active role in the promotion of public awareness and the dissemination of modern geoinformation technologies in Central Asia. Center provides distance learning Masters GIS for Central Asia, together with the Center for GIS at the University of Salzburg (Austria). The graduates of the Center will receive a Master Degree at the University of Salzburg and KSUCTA.
Kyrgyz Center for Geographic Information Systems (KCGIS) was established in 2006 as a public institution to meet the needs of Kyrgyz universities, research institutes and enterprises, and coordinating the implementation of the teaching and development of geographic information science and technology.

The main directions of the research activities of the department
